REASON: Based on a confluence of events, I-0459, RI 238, and

TITLE: Clarification Of Implied Evaluation Actions For CM

SOURCE REFERENCE: CEM v1.0 Part 2 Subclause 6.4.1 ACM_CAP.2
RELATED TO: <None>

ISSUE:

Paragraph 648 of CEM v1.0 Part 2 says:

"This component contains an explicit evaluation action to determine that the CM system is being used".

It is inappropriate to have "implicit" evaluator actions. All evaluator actions should be captured in explicit work units.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

As a result of NIAP I-0412, there is no requirement in ACM_CAP.2 that a CM system be used, and thus paragraph 648 is incorrect.

SPECIFIC RESOLUTION

To address this interpretation (and thus, to address the methodology changes resultant from I-0412), the following changes are made to CEM v1.0 Part 2:

  • Subclause 6.4.1.2 and the paragraph contained within (paragraph 648) are deleted.

SUPPORT:

The application note being deleted is based on the presence of ACM_CAP.2.2D in CC v2.1 Part 3. It attempted to capture an implicit evaluator action that resulted from a developer action with no corresponding content and presentation elements. I-0412 deleted the developer action requirement. Thus, the application note is no longer needed.
