About The TCSEC/TNI/TDI Public Interpretations Database

TCSEC/TNI/TDI INTERPRETATIONS

One of the responsibilities of the Interpretations Working Group under TPEP was the development of interpretations of the TCSEC, TNI, and TDI. The sources of these interpretations included issues that are raised from discussions on evaluator forums and sections of the criteria that the IWG found to be confusing based on its review. As part of the IWG development process, the IWG distributed the proposed Interpretations for public review and comment.

POSTING INFORMATION

The following describes each section of an interpretation:

NUMBER

The Interpretations Working Group maintained a database of the criteria-relatedissues that it was investigating. Whenever the Interpretations Working Group identified a new issue, that issue was assigned a number of the form "I-nnnn" and added to the database. Interpretations Working Group members developed interpretations from the issues in the database. The "I-nnnn" number associated with an interpretation is the number of the associated issue in the database.

Note that the order in which the Interpretations Working Group worked on database entries is not the same as the order in which issues were added to the database. Consequently, the "I-nnnn" numbers of interpretations on this list will not necessarily be in sequential order.

Approved TCSEC/TNI/TDI interpretations are available here
