| #152 Iteration on Assurance Components |
| Date: 17 October 2003 |
|
Interim Statement: The CCIMB recognizes that the text on iteration may cause confusion but disagrees with the national interpretation. Selection and iteration are performed at the component level, which is defined as the smallest selectable set of security requirements. The entire component applies to that portion of the TOE addressed by the iterated component.
However, presentation of the iterated components is different than the act of iteration. The ST/PP writer may choose to only repeat those elements have changed and may do so, as long as it is clear that the entire component applies.
In addition, paragraph 56 has been removed per final interpretation 019 and therefore the second change in the national interpretation has been overtaken by events.
A clarification of this will be included in the ASE/APE rewrite.
