PP OVERVIEW

This is the first generation of a Standard Protection Profile (PP) for PC client devices Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) firmware. The BIOS or the system BIOS is the primary firmware used to facilitate the hardware initialization process and transition control to the operating system on PC client devices.  This PP addresses the primary threat that an adversary will modify or replace the BIOS on a PC client device and compromise the PC client environment in a persistent way.
