In addition, the overwrite methods and patterns provided by the product conform to various United States Government regulations.</p>\r\n<p>Los Altos Technologies UniShred Pro &reg; Version 3.3.1 provides a verifying capability that tests for successful completion of overwriting a partition or disk. There is also a reporting capability to track the status and outcome of the various process steps. The reports that are generated, are displayed on-screen, can be archived to a file, or printed at a later time.</p>\r\n<p>Los Altos Technologies UniShred Pro &reg; Version 3.3.1 is compatible with, and has been evaluated to operate, with the following operating systems:</p>\r\n<ul>\r\n    <li>HP HP/UX 9 - 11 </li>\r\n    <li>IBM AIX 4.x </li>\r\n    <li>GNU Linux w/ kernel 2.x </li>\r\n    <li>SGI IRIX 6.5.x </li>\r\n    <li>Sun Solaris 2.x, 7.x, 8.x, and 9.x </li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p>In addition to these defined operating systems, Los Altos Technologies UniShred Pro &reg; Version 3.3.1 also can be operated from a self-bootable floppy disk using a hardened version of GNU Linux from any Intel platform PC.</p>","evaluation_configuration":null,"security_evaluation_summary":"<p>The evaluation was carried out in accordance with the Cable and Wireless Common Criteria Test Laboratory processes and procedures that are compliant with the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS). The evaluation demonstrated that the Overwrite, Verify, Access Control, and Reporting functions of the UniShred Pro &reg; product met the security requirements contained in the Security Target. The criteria against which the UniShred Pro &reg; product was judged are described in the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation, Version 2.1 Part II and Part III. The evaluation team conducted the evaluation using the Common Methodology for Information Technology Security Evaluation, Version 1.0.</p>\r\n<p>Cable &amp; Wireless determined that the evaluation assurance level (EAL) for the product is EAL 1. The product, configured as outlined in the Secure Installation Guidance, satisfies all of the security functional requirements stated in the Security Target. A validator, on behalf of the CCEVS Validation Body, monitored the evaluation carried out by Cable &amp; Wireless. The evaluation was completed in December 2002.
