Consistency Instruction Manuals

With the evolution of the NIAP Protection Profile process, the use of Basic and Medium Robustness concept is being replaced with the development of Standard Protection profiles. Standard PPs will include, along with security functionality, assurance activities to provide instructions to evaluators how to ensure the functionality has been implemented correctly. NIAP will work with industry, our customers, and the Common Criteria community to create these profiles. The first generation of these Standard Protection Profiles will take into account the current assurance that is achievable for a technology and the Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) will be set based on the availability of the documentation, test plans, and tools needed to obtain consistent and comparable results.

The consistency instruction manuals have been retained for reference purposes and are no longer in use.
